Patience and Persistance Pays Off

Whew! Talk about a roller coaster ride of stress for the past couple of days. The laptop I was using was, unfortunately, proving insufficient and possibly outdated. My parents and I made the decision to head over to the wonderful Apple store in Manhattan to purchase a brand new Macbook Pro (and boy is it killer-awesome!).
The new printer was giving us fits as well, as it printed a very nice "test page" but failed to succeed in printing from any application such as Word or Excel. After uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it, we finally managed to make it work properly.
There was still an internet problem, however. AJ's computer was receiving internet very nicely, but mine was not. I came to the conclusion to hook up his ethernet cord to my computer. It worked, and here I am. On my laptop. In my room. On the internet. Finally. Hopefully the lobby will have wireless internet later on tomorrow.

Tough Times, Rough Rides

So this is my seond day here in New York. The site of the skyline while flying in was still as breathtaking as the first time. However, life here in one of the busiest, most expensive cities in the world has proven very difficult and very frustrating. Even now, my shoulders are tight, our room is cluttered, and my hair is frizzy - not to mention the lack of internet. My stress has been climing at a steady pace do to the fact that my laptop, for whatever reason, will not connect to the internet (not even in the lobby, which has wireless internet). This also means I cannot upload any pictures yet. I was lucky enough to have a really great roomate, A.J., who let me use his laptop while in the room until mine is fixed. Food shouldn't be too big of a problem, as A.J. is also very crafty in making whole meals (thank God!). School starts in three days. Looking forward to it.

Home Finale

It was a busy day, runnin' in and out of the house since 9:15 a.m. Target came first. Objective: buy three new shorts and a good, simple t-shirt. Being successful in my search and satisfied with a nice slice of Banana Nut Bread, I ran back home only to run out again with the madre to Dress Barn (for her outfits, not mine...) and Walgreens.
Afterwards, I went to pick up my good friend, Ariana, and we headed over to Langham as planned to visit our theatre buddies and buddiettes. It certainly was very enjoyable to see everyone again and we concluded the day with Chick-fil-A. Scrumptious!
The car picks us up at 6:15 a.m.

Nerves Begin To Rattle

Today was my last church service and family lunch until I return home from New York, sometime around Christmas. Being the back-to-school time of year, Dave Riggle spoke the word about friendship and how it can shape our lives both daily and consecutively. I have no doubt in my mind I will find a great new band of brothers while at the Conservatory.
Bought some new shoes - they're pretty fly, very comfortable. Finalizing the packing, trying to jam as many items as possible into the only few bags we've got. Tomorrow I'm making my last trip back to Langham to visit the theatre family I grew with for four years. Super-stoked.
